A loft in one of Chelsea's most desirable buildings offers great sunlight on a high floor. Soft sheer roman shades filter the strong sun. While the clients favorite color is black the walls are painted in three shades of the same gray color. I convinced her that a rich red velvet sofa would offset beautifully the gray walls. Black and white graphic print pillows and upholstery keep it fun.

A home office in the main space is made of aluminum and glass partitions. The glass panels are back painted gray like the walls to disguise office clutter....sandblasted glass panels and then clear panels at the top to bring light in.

The large scale black on white drawing on this wing chair makes a strong contemporary statement on an ordinary wing chair.

The kitchen has been painted out like the walls to help unify the open plan living loft area.

The bar area adjacent to the kitchen was created from a recess in the wall for the AC. Often Commercial renovations into residential new use create awkward spaces but used to advantage here.
